When considering bringing university charges, consider the following information:
- Under the Student Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment, Sexual Violence, Relationship Violence, Stalking and Related Misconduct, sexual violence and related misconduct can be addressed through a formal University process. If a student is found responsible under the Policy, the consequence could include suspension or expulsion from the University. The standard of proof is preponderance of evidence. The university guarantees that in cases involving allegations of sexual assault, the Hearing Officer will ensure that protections afforded under NJ’s “Rape Shield Law” are followed which protect the rights of the survivor.
