Stalking Behaviors

Using guilt

  • “I have something really important to talk to  you about, but it is too hard to do over the phone”
  • “You’re the only one who really understands me, I can’t talk to anyone else about this.”
  • “Why are you doing this to me?  Don’t you care about me?”

Promising “one last time”

  • The stalker dangles the carrot of “closure” to draw the victim in.
  • “I’ll never bother you again.”

Using blackmail

  •  Whether the victim has done anything wrong or not

Twisting words

  • The more the victim responds, the more the stalker keeps contact going
