Using guilt
- “I have something really important to talk to you about, but it is too hard to do over the phone”
- “You’re the only one who really understands me, I can’t talk to anyone else about this.”
- “Why are you doing this to me? Don’t you care about me?”
Promising “one last time”
- The stalker dangles the carrot of “closure” to draw the victim in.
- “I’ll never bother you again.”
Using blackmail
- Whether the victim has done anything wrong or not
Twisting words
- The more the victim responds, the more the stalker keeps contact going
