Turn the Campus Purple website banner

Turn the Campus Purple (TTCP) is a month-long awareness campaign that takes place in October across all Rutgers campuses as a part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. TTCP is a way to connect the university community, including survivors, advocates, students, organizations, faculty, staff and university leadership to raise awareness and support efforts to end all forms of domestic violence.

In addition to taking part in the events listed below, we encourage everyone to get involved and spread the word by:

Transforming Your Space

  • Decorate your room, office or building in purple for the month of October
  • Wear purple and encourage others to do the same

Transforming Your Social Media

  • Post photos of individuals, groups, and studentorganizations wearing purple and tag @RUVPVA on Instagram
  • Use hashtag #RUTTCP21 while participating throughout the month

Every year, we recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We know that this issue impacts the Rutgers community significantly. Over half (52%) of undergraduate students will experience one form of dating/domestic violence during their time at Rutgers according to the 2018 #iSPEAK Campus Climate Survey. Come learn what Rutgers is doing to address this issue and bring any questions or suggestions as we continue to work to support survivors in our community.
